Diploma in Creative Supervision
This is an in-depth course with over 100 hours tutor contact, in keeping with IAHIP requirements. It is an experiential course with a substantial theoretical component. The core theoretical model utilised in the course is humanistic and integrative with a review of other relevant theoretical approaches. It is suitable to therapists adopting a variety of approaches in their work, regardless of the specific core training that they have undertaken. The Diploma Course includes a module on The Dimensions Model which offers an organizing structure to assist practitioners, and supervisors, to conceptualize, plan, and intervene with clients. By anchoring the therapy process to two primary dimensions, consciousness and directiveness, the therapist is free to select from a broad range of therapy approaches to optimize treatment. This course is designed as an advanced experiential and skills based training for qualified psychotherapists, play therapists, creative arts therapists and psychologists with at least three years post qualifying experience. Suitable candidates will usually have a busy practice, generally working with 8 or more clients each week. Supervised practice as supervisors is essential during the training and is included in the course fee. Course Trainers: Dr Sue Jennings and Eileen Prendiville are the core trainers for this course. Robin Shohet also teaches a module covering the renowned 'Seven-Eyed Supervision Model' developed by himself and Peter Hawkins.
